Hi Guys,
I Fedex my 485 package on July, 11th and it got reached to USCIS on July, 12 (I have the acknolegement) but still did not receive the receipt number. I am seeing who filed after me started getting receipt numbers.
I am kind of concerned about it as I did not see any movement in my case.
Any inputs Or wondering if anybody else facing similar situation??????

short clip Telecasting in desi channels will be a good idea. as i know lot of indians watch desi channels.I still know many in my relatives who are suffering from green card retrogression but are ignorant of immigrationvoice.org and core team.all of them have desi channels through dish. we can telecast a short 10 second add in these channels and also telecast in u.s. channels to get widespread desi support and also all other green card retrogression victims support.by telecasting in these channels many ppl back in india will also know about the problems we indians are facing in u.s.a due to gc retro.we have to use popular media like t.v and internet as much as possible to get fellow victims and would-be victims know about us.yesterday i have posted in various communities like 'indians in america','hyderbadi's abroad' in orkut.com about immigrationvoice.org.similarly we can target many social networking sites,rediff.com,yahoo.com and other websites.chain mails like forwarding the plight of gc victims to all other friends and so on...and sending offline messsages through yahoo messenger etc .what say ???

While I may not subscribe to the theory of no work at CIS, if most cases are pre-adj and so the dates have to move forward, I do believe that the 485 is now essentially a two step process
Step 1: Accepting 485, EAD, AP apps.. with the EAD and AP being optional
You need the PD date to apply to this step 1.
Then comes the prep work for Step 2 ---a spate of FP, Medical, background checks, RFE's and a ton of those beore they can say your case is waiting for Visa number...
And then ..
Step 2 : Your case is now adjudicated . When the visa number becomes available you get the magic card...
If the work for Step 2 for most of the applicants has been done .. then there is no harm in moving the PD to accept more of Step 1 apps... at least that is how my pea sized brain thinks...
They can always control Step 2 through a combo of PD, RD, ND and what not... so while several of 2006,2007 may be current again in 2010, they will only grant GC to one's who fit in their scheme of RD, ND's etc...

But my employer is not ready to provide me with copy of my approved PERM labor and 140. Just like any other employer.
So I am planning to request both of this by making FOIA request to DOL and USCIS.

I am on an EAD (dependent), as my husband was the primary applicant. He has got his GC and mine got stuck after the July - Aug 2007 fiasco :(.
I want to start a IT company with my friend who is a US Citizen. I know my husband is a sure shot to have the company in his name however, he is in a full-time job.
My questions:
1) Can I start / partner with a friend who is a US Citizen?
2) I am thinking of an LLC. Is that ok? or should it be S-Corp? More reading of S-corp says to be US Citizen or US Permanent Resident so I am more leaning towards LLC. Also there is a provision that we could change LLC to S-corp at a later date (if needed).
3) What should I make sure if I go through the LLC route? - like Designation, Salary that I can take, work for the same company etc
4) Does state make any difference? If so how? I am a PA resident and my friend is from Texas. We are thinking of registering the company in Texas.

Though NSC says Feb18th for EAD my sister who filed on MAR 2nd got her approval last friday so it is less than 75 days.

I agree to maverick. I have PD of feb 08 in EB2. I was having a permenent job but I decided to move back. The main points were uncentainity in GC process. Took a leads Job in worlds largest mutual fund company at bangalore as DBA.
Thing are working out great, since I can do what ever I want without worrying about any paprework.
All though I am really flustreted with bangalore traffic but you have to deal with it..

employer's attorney claims that there is no such thing as H4 premium processing.
Can anyone point me to the correct memo where Premium filing was made available for I-539 applications?
I searched all Mathew-Oh updates dated one year ago and can't locate it.
I need to get that h4 under premium ASAP so that I can transfer to H1 in April.
Can anyone please help?

If 1099 is not acceptable with client, what is the the easiest way to go forward, assuming no intent of other employees?
I think LLC is the only option ( if I dont want to go towards C-Cop ). How long does it take to set that up? What setps? What are the expenses involved other than one time registration fee?
